Testimonials

I lived in Uganda and I know that Nodding syndrome usually strikes children between the ages of 5 and 16. These are young kids that you would expect to be running around playing, instead they are just sitting in groups so villagers can keep an eye on them.

These funds will improve their lives, provide medical supplies and the ability to do research. Donations will help affected children, staff, medical research and the surrounding community, cope with and treat this dreadful Nodding Syndrome.

Donating to this cause is a small sacrifice to us and goes a very long way to helping those in need. I know that all the money donated goes directly to the cause.

Thank you for doing this

I work with Dr. Pollanen, the Chief Forensic Pathologist of Ontario. When he told me about working to help the nodding syndrome children, I very much wanted to help as I was born in Gulu, Uganda. I am privileged to have a very comfortable life here in Toronto.  I have so many comforts and opportunities and these children do not have electricity or running water which are basics. The least I can do is give back in any helpful way to help the children get the support for food , medicine and care that is needed to help them with their illness. I am glad that the Help U Grow Charity is there to support these children directly and keeps its administrative costs to a minimum!

I know firsthand that the donations being collected are going to the right people because I trust the board members and their motives.  Also, they have very responsible people in Uganda that are very committed to this cause. They see the suffering children, sometimes they could be theirs.

We are so fortunate here and have more than we need. Giving to a cause like this, goes a long way. Helps the children and their families to have the treatment and food to live a normal life.

If we can all give a little, we can make a big difference in the lives of these unfortunate families.

Thank you to the board for all that you do for the less fortunate.

We all want to help those in need but are sometimes met with self-hesitation. We want to ensure that our donations are going to the right place but are not always sure how to make that happen. Donating to Help U Grow Charity for Uganda is a particularly rewarding experience because it is so direct. The donations go directly to those who need it most and the money goes an impressively long way. What may seem like a small amount for me may be a life changing gift for a child and his or her family in Uganda and that is incredibly powerful motivation.

It is with gratitude that I commend “Help U Grow Charity for Uganda”. I donated to this charity after hearing about the work being done in Uganda by dedicated individuals in the Kitgum area of Uganda that work closely with the families affected by Nodding Syndrome. We were fortunate to hear about details of the work being done from Dr. Michael Pollanen and Mr. Gregory Dias. As people who grew up in Uganda, we are grateful to find these dedicated individuals who are making it possible to get the most of our donations to the people who need it most.
